Week Seven: Faux Pinch Pleat Curtains

About a year and a half ago I made these curtains for our living room. I used a super simple design since it was my first attempt at curtains but after looking at them I wish I had done a little something decorative at the top. Then I came across a tutorial showing how to make simple slide on drapes look like they are pleated with easy clip on rings! The tutorial also shows you how to make the curtains themselves if you're feeling ambitious!

My curtains before all bunched up...
These clip rings were about $5 for a pack of 10 at Ikea. They are plastic but you won't see them!
Space and place them evenly across your drapes

And enjoy a whole new look without having to buy or make all new curtains!!!

Week Six: Clothespin Chip Clips

I went back and forth about my would-be craft of the week and just could not make up my mind! But, while scouring Pinterest for inspiration, I kept running across crafts with clothespins. I have about 40 clothes pins left from last weeks Valentine, since HEB only sells them in bulk, so why not use what I have?

Here is a super simple DIY to make decorative chip clips! Somehow chips make me think of football and I just so happened to have some left over football scrap paper. Nice! So, all you need is some modge podge, scrap paper, a brush and clothespins and you can say goodbye to those stale chips... if you can get your husband to use them too. =)

Simply traced a rough outline and cut it out...
Apply a layer of modge podge to the clothes pin and affix paper
Trim any rough edges and then cover with another layer of modge podge. If the paper bubbles, you didn't put enough modge podge on the clothespin to start with so peel back and apply more.
I love fishes cuz their so delicious... when they're not stale.
Now, what to do with the other 36 pins I have left? Lol!

Week Five: Valentine's For Toddlers

J had a little Valentine's Day party with her neighborhood playgroup this Friday so, of course, I had to make Valentine's. I really can't help myself. I saw these cute little butterfly snacks on Pinterest and thought they would make a great valentine for toddlers! Since they can't read, I skipped the cute saying and made it all about the goodies! All you need are snack sized ziploc bags, clothes pins, paint, treats and pipe cleaners! J had a great time painting the clothes pins and, I will admit, I had a great time assembling them! I do love being a stay at home mom!
